Setsubun is a fun traditional holiday that is celebrated on February 3rd and is known in English as “Bean-throwing Festival.” During this day the children had a chance to throw the beans to chase the bad spirits (oni) and bring happiness or good luck for the following year .
The children enjoyed throwing beans to the devil to chase the bad spirit away.
