Doll Festival (Hinamatsuri)

This week,we have celebrated one of Japan's traditional events called the "Hinamatsuri" or "Doll Festival" by making cute crafts...footprint dolls!
The children enjoyed having their feet painted blue and pink...some were tickilish,others weren't...it's all fun seeing them laugh while their feet was being brushed and other's were just looking and smiling...
when it was all dried up,we use their footprints as their doll's dress...



We used one of Cherry Class's baby feet for our sample and she also enjoyed having hers painted...

During lunch time...Elena and Kasuga decided to help feed one of the Cherry kids...it was so sweet and cute..

女の子(●´3`bd´ε`●)Thursday blog

まさしく、現代の社会をまじまじとみるようなたくましいgirlsを見た一週間でした

2月最後のUKIUKid's Monday classは、throwingとﾌﾗﾌｰﾌﾟ大縄の三本だて.ｽﾅｯｸﾀｲﾑ後、ふと見ると腹筋を鍛えだすGirlsにビックリ(笑)

Wednesday classは、体の部位を使ったお相撲(手だけ、お尻)、そのあとは縄をくぐったり、跨いだり、引っ張ったり…女の子だから手加減しなきゃ、というboysの優しさを驚かす程のﾊﾟﾜﾌﾙな女の子…すぐに男の子は本気で頑張りました(笑)

Little Japanese 明日から３月…ひな祭りのお話や歌を歌って製作をした後は… モンテッソーリの感覚教具“秘密袋”を楽しみました触感覚により、立体認識力を育成したり、語彙の拡充を目的とした教具です例えば今日は、袋の中に６～８個物を入れ、その中に洗濯バサミを入れました。名称を覚えた後「洗濯が飛ばないように、とめる物を出して下さい」と言って、子どもが出す…という感じです最後に、よく出来た二人の袋にこっそりチョコを入れると大興奮楽しかったね


最後に、私の指が切れていることに気づくと、自分の絆創膏を貼ってくれた優しいGrapeさん将来は、ナースかな

Great week to be out and about!

We would like to thank everyone for coming on our PTA meeting! It had been great to talk about your children, and as their main teacher,it was an honor for me to get to know Apple Class well even for a short period of time. They really are great and smart kids!

Last week,the weather had been absolutely great,yet still a little cold but that didn't stop us from running around and playing at the park...










...and since it was still pretty cold,I decided to run with my Apple girls up and down the hill...


In the afternoon,as we are about to start our lesson,they decided to pretend to be me...it was really cute...

Melon Class

I would like to thank all the parents for coming to the class-viewing.kids had their Indian costumes and amazingly they were quite comfortable...

After the assembly Kids performed a drama and also read a story






After that they showed us Indian Yoga




Then kids performed two Indian dances..




Indian dances are really difficult but all the kids did wonderful job...
I am proud of you..

Bosaikan Trip

It was a unique experience for the children to travel and take a train without their moms. Some were excited and others were nervous .
Our reservation at Bosaikan was at 13:00. We arrived Ikebukuro at quarter past 10:00. To make the event more exciting we went to a nearby parkAfter playing, it's time to eat. they all had fun ordering the Happy sets which include toys. It's time to go to Bosaikanwe took a picture, while waiting for the activity to start.before the activity, the children met an American and they were brave to practice their English) It's time to experience the earthquakeThe children went under the table some were excited and nervous. The audio explanation was in English and then later the Bosaikan personnel explained the other information in Japanese. Then we went to another room to experience fire prevention drill and went to the audio room to watch a short animated film about Safety.After we watched the film, the children stamped their cardsit's time to go homeIt looked like most of the children still had energy to play.
