In our first week of study this year we have been learning the fundamentals of drawing lines in preparation for writing letters of the alphabet. We also learned to recognize squares and distinguish them from rectangles and other shapes. The Apple students have shown their artistic side in the pictures they have drawn, and recently by painting portraits of a certain famous caterpillar (which should be available for collection this Monday). This teacher has made a mental note to start taking photographs for future blog posts.

Today is the first day of the new students in Grape Class. I thought it will be a big adjustment for the kids to come to a new environmnet but it seems like they're in Grape Class for long. First thing we did was introduction, each child introduce himself/ herself, told about their likes and dislikes, and the first lesson we had was "All About Me" I painted their hands and feet to make hand and foot prints.
We also went to the park to enjoy the nice weather and the Cherry blossom.
After lunch the children had a free time they played in the room with the new toys.
We end the day by telling a story.

今日から新年度が始まりました。
新入生も入ったアップルさん。
誰一人泣くことなく、皆んな楽しく初日を過ごしました。
進級したメロンさん、グレープさんも”It was fun!”と満足そうな笑顔を見せてくれました。良かった〜。
良い新年度のスタートが切れました。
今年も楽しいこといっぱいの一年にしましょうね！

Last week on the 26th, we had Graduation and Recognition.All the classes performed very well. Melon Class-kids dressed in Sari and performed yoga and dances.
Boys had mustaches. They looked cool.
After their presentation, kids got certificates for their excellent achievement in Melon Class.
Not only kids but mummies were dressed in Indian Sari too.
Today we had cherry-blossoms picnic. We had a wonderful time together. After we gathered in the morning, we sang our assembly song and enjoyed some games.
Kids enjoyed balloon-popping game. After the kids , mummies took part too.
Next we had hanging Rice Crackers game.
Our last game was finding bananas from the whip cream.
After that we had lunch together.
I would like to thank all the parents for joining us. Thankyou for your co-operation.

光が丘公園のいつもの場所で行いますので、卒業生のみなさんも是非遊びに来て下さいね。後輩たちと一緒にゲームを楽しみましょう。お待ちしています。
