Melon Class

Last week we celebrated 'setsubun' (the beans throwing festival). Kids wore mask and threw beans at devils. We all wished for good health and fortune too.

Mame-Maki

This week,we have celebrated Mame-Maki or Setsubun,one of the many traditions here in Japan. We threw beans on our demon mascot to drive away bad things,and we threw the beans upward to welcome in good fortune and good health for the coming year!
The first part of our Mame-Maki activity was done inside the school...




The second part was done at the park...



We are almost finish with our alphabet crafts as we study the letter "W" this week...



The theme for our craft this month is about Valentine's, we made our first Friday Heart Panda craft...



And since we were not able to go to the park so much,Ms. Miho taught Cherry Class some excercise dance...

Melon Class

Last week the children learned many countries flags and their cultures.Our school is international so it was a good chance for the children to know about different countries. To support our theme in the Melon class ,we prepared dinner box in which we had food from different countries.

Grape Class

We had just celebrated the Setsubun. The children made their own mask and bags to be used for this occassionWe had our throwing of beans twice, first we held it in school.
The second day, we held it at the park.
I hope the children understood the real meaning of this tradition
